30th September ‘Of Good Character’ Launch

We wish to announce an event which will act as the launch for ‘Of Good Character’, the latest publication from the Learning for Life project. The book, written by project director Prof. James Arthur, seeks to present the body of empirical evidence collected during the 5 research reports released so far on character education, reaffirm the findings with sound theory and provide recommendations for consideration in developing concrete proposals for moral education, in particular, in identifying an appropriate language that can be used within the field of moral and character education.

The launch is to take place at St Anne’s College, Oxford, on 30th September, and is to be hosted by Sir Jack Templeton of the John Templeton Foundation, along with many of the Learning for life Advisory Board members, including Lord Watson of Richmond and the Dean of Westminster Dr. John Hall. As part of the book launch, there will be short presentations on the various themes discovered during the research on the project, including religion, business, schools and civic engagement.
