Inspire>Aspire Values Poster Programme
Inspire>Aspire is an education programme inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The aim is character development in young people. It is designed to help them explore their character, ideals and values through a unique electronic poster template, using supporting Internet resources. The programme is free to users of any age but it has been designed specifically for 11-16 year olds.
Learning Resource for Primary Schools
The learning resource is designed for 8-11 year olds in Primary Schools. The materials included with the resource are carefully selected to suit the age group involved.
Pupils are introduced to the idea that a good life depends upon the development of certain personal qualities. The children are then invited to select personal qualities from the resource which they think are important for a successful life. They then choose people from the resource who show these qualities in their own lives. Finally, they write about their findings using the online booklet. Notes are provided for teachers.
Learning Resource for Church Schools 14-18yrs
Flexibility and adaptability in how the material is used is the aim of the resource. The project aims to raise questions about what it is to be fully human: for Christians, of course, the claim is to manifest Christ living within us . . . and, how this might compare with secular notions about the 'good life'.
Learning Resource for Church Schools 9-13yrs
A Church school programme for nine to thirteen year olds which helps pupils to research the lives of Christian figures in order to grow, change and respond positively to opportunities, challenges and responsibilities in life as well as to encourage pupils to reflect and develop their own virtues. This project enables pupils to reflect on Christian virtues such as justice, restraint, temperance, courage, fortitude, faith, hope, love and charity. Pupils complete a specially designed booklet template with a personal reflection section.
16+ Youth Programme
This new programme for young people moving out of school and into adult life is currently being piloted in Scotland. It provides an opportunity for young adults to look at themselves at the start of their working lives and to reflect on the qualities they are going to need. Guidance notes are provided for Advisers and Youth Workers.
